We are the four hundred service providers
who are currently members of WESNET.
We represent a diverse range of women and children including: non-English speaking
background women, Indigenous women, older and younger women, lesbians, women with
disabilities and regional, rural and remote women and their children.
WESNET has grown out of a need for women's services to have a peak body.
As providers of women's services we rely on WESNET as our peak body to bring our concerns,
issues and voices to the national agenda. Therefore WESNET is a vital conduit between
grass roots voices/ service providers and governments.
It is a forum where we can expect integrity and accuracy in bringing those voices
together.
WESNET has evolved into a dynamic organisation which truly reflects grass roots concerns,
issues and trends. We believe that WESNET is able to bring women's and children's voices
together at a national level, and to do this in a way which is respectful of our service
values and beliefs.
WESNET has a vital role to play in informing best practice in service delivery and in
ensuring equity of access for women from a range of backgrounds.
As member services we hold a strong view that WESNET is a vital and representative peak
body which needs to hold secure and ongoing funding.
