The Male Family Violence Prevention Association Inc., is a peak organisation of individuals and agencies working for the prevention of male family violence. The specific focus is work with men to assist them to change and end their violent behaviour.

Women's Refuge Movement Resource Centre
The Women's Refuge Resource Centre is the central contact for the New South Wales Women's Refuge Movement (WRM) a network of 53 women's refuges situated across New South Wales providing support and accommodation for women and children escaping domestic violence.

 

The Women's Information and Referral Centre

WiRC was established as a Shopfront Service in 1978 by the Office of Women's Affairs. WiRC views its service delivery as supporting families through women, as the central person in the majority of family units. If women have accurate information and are supported to make their choices, then the ripple effect will be felt through the family and in turn the wider community.

DVIRC provides resources and education to professionals and to those who have experienced domestic violence or sexual abuse.

Women’s Resource Information and Support Centre
WRISC identifies women's and children's safety as first priority and works with women in a way that validates their independence and empowerment. We encourage women to make their own decisions about their lives and help them to find the support and services they deserve.

Women's Council for Domestic & Family Violence Services.
WCDFVS is the peak council for WA committed to improving the status of women and children in society.  The role is to provide a voice on domestic and family violence issues that facilitates and promotes policy, legislative and programmatic responses relevant to women and children who have experienced domestic and family violence.

Manning & Great Lakes Domestic Violence Services
This site is jointly owned by the Manning Valley Domestic Violence Monitoring Committee and the Forster Tuncurry Domestic Violence Committee, and offers useful information about responding to domestic and family violence.

Homelessness Organisations

Australian Federation of Homelessness Organisations
AFHO was established in 1998 to provide a co-ordinated response to issues of homelessness. The founding members of AFHO are WESNET, NYCH and CHPA. AFHO aims to represent the diversity of views and issues within the homelessness sector and undertakes specific policy work in the areas of women, youth, single adults and families.

The National Youth Coalition for Housing (NYCH) was established in 1982 to prevent and alleviate youth homelessness in Australia by providing co-ordination and resourcing to services nationally; monitoring government policy and service developments relevant to youth homelessness undertaking policy development and research on youth housing and lobbying government and the broader community to take the required steps to reduce youth homelessness in Australia.

The Council to Homeless Persons Australia (CHPA) was established in 1996 following a concern that the needs of single adults and families experiencing homelessness were being overlooked by both the government and the wider community. CHPA’s aims are to advocate and achieve social justice for people who are homeless; undertake policy development; facilitate information exchange between members; initiate and sponsor national research projects on homelessness and related issues; support and develop the capacity of State and Territory networks and work in partnership with members and government to improve the quality of services available to people who are experiencing homelessness.

National Shelter
National Shelter is a peak group for housing policy and advocacy work. It links State and Territory Shelters. It was defunded by the Commonwealth Government in 1997 after a successful campaign to defend social housing from disastrous "reforms" the government had proposed. National Shelter is currently convened by Shelter NSW.

The Australian Council of Social Service (ACOSS) is the peak council of the community welfare sector in Australia and the national voice for the needs of people affected by poverty and inequality. ACOSS seeks to develop and promote socially responsible public policies in the government, private and community sectors; support and foster the valuable role of non-government organisations and particularly the involvement of the community welfare sector in national policy – making.

Centre Against Sexual Assault (CASA House)
CASA House is committed to providing services which recognise and promote the rights of victims/survivors. This is reflected in the centre's rights/advocacy approach through which service users are offered. CASA House also publishes the "Women Against Violence" journal - a national journal examining issues relevant to the work to stop violence against women. The journal reflects a feminist philosophy and a social justice framework. 

Children by Choice
Children by Choice is committed to promoting women's sexual and reproductive health choices in relation to unplanned pregnancy.  Children by Choice recognises that unplanned pregnancy is a reality of women's lives.  No contraceptive method is 100% effective and many new contraceptive products are not available in Australia.

A specialist library that collects, preserves, and promotes the awareness of the literary and cultural heritage of Australian women.

The NWJC, of which WESNET is a board member, works to create a society that respects and protects basic human rights, a justice system that protects women’s rights equally, a government system in which issues affecting women are routinely taken into account, and a legal system where women and men are equally involved. NWJC hosts the Australian Virtual Centre for Women and the Law.

Women’s Electoral Lobby
The Women’s Electoral Lobby Australia Inc (WEL) is a feminist non-party political organisation founded in 1972 and is the national political lobby organisation for all Australian women. WEL (Australia) is committed to the feminist goal of achieving social, economic, educational, political and sexual equality for women.
